While the CEO of the software company, Richard also established an IT Advocacy group outside
of the Silicon Valley CA. As president of this advocacy group for 4
years, he managed and motivated 80+
members from other IT companies CEOs, Presidents, Talent and
Affiliates for the promotion of the IT industry in Marin County as
an important segment of the industry through trade shows, events,
local and state government lobbying.
In preparation to create a new
business and family life in Australia the software company was
successfully sold to a synergistic competitor/buyer. Richard has the
background and business experience to take on the challenges of the
NEW Douglas Shire Council
As a candidate for Douglas Shire Councillor, Richard Lavender is an independent, an alliance free candidate,
(independent of any land development or association), who is
focused, educated, creative, and passionate about the community. He
believes that for the Douglas Shire to be successful; the community
needs to be informed, engaged and that EVERYONE in the shire is
'listened to' and 'respected'.

sales, marketing, & managing human resources with up
to 150 employees, while working with Lucus Films &
Software, Microsoft, AT&T, and Bank of America
